INGREDIENTS
HELLO FROM OREGON!
Soaps for Good supports local farmers, growers, and producers, as well as local artisans and businesses, because it’s good for our community. Plus, it is more fun when we can hang out with people making great products.
Every soap we make contains at least one ingredient grown in Oregon. When lucky enough to work directly with the grower, we’ll tell you about them below and feature them in our blogs and social media posts.
HAZELNUT OIL
HAZELNUT OIL
Hazelnuts are synonymous with Oregon. They taste great, make excellent nut milk, and are soooo delicious with coffee, chocolate, caramel, oatmeal cookies, and almost everything. We’ve even ground them and used them to coat fish. Oh my, our culinary roots are showing when we talk about Hazelnut Oil.
We source from a wholesale distributor local to us here in Portland. They have partnered with an Oregon hazelnut farm to bring you the highest quality hazelnut oil possible. Hazelnut Oil is packed with Vitamin E, Oleic Acid, and other Fatty Acids to support hydration. Those with nut allergies may want to avoid soaps made with Hazelnut Oil.

Shellibration Bars
Note: Confetti Bars MAY contain hazelnut oil since they are made with scraps, and we will clearly mark the inclusion of hazelnut on the label. And you can leave us a note at checkout to ask for one without Hazelnut Oil.
HEMP OIL AND HEARTS
HEMP OIL AND HEARTS
Produced in Oregon by Queen of Hearts, Tonia Farman, and her team in Hood River, Oregon, our Hemp Oil, and Seeds are organically grown and cold-pressed. Queen of Hearts works with Oregon, Washington, and Montana growers to ensure quality and safety. Our hemp oil and seeds are cold-processed to retain the fatty-acid profile and Omega 6 and 12 fatty acids. Tonia’s story is all about hope and local farmers. You can learn more about how Hemp Oil and Hearts are produced ethically, responsibly, and sustainably. Learn more at Queen of Hearts.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL AND BUDS
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL
OIL AND BUDS
Oregon is perfect for lavender, with temperate weather and great soil. We currently source from a local distributor offering Oregon-grown pure Buena Vista Lavender, and not the more common mixture called Lavender 40/42 indicates that it is a blend of 40% linalool and 42% linalyl acetate. Because it is a single note, pure Essential Oil, the scent will change from batch to batch based on growing conditions. More sun, more water, less water, and so forth affects botanicals just like they do wine grapes.
Our buds come from local lavender farms, but we are working right now to secure a single farm connection so you can see the people behind your lavender.

MEADOWFOAM SEED OIL
MEADOWFOAM SEED OIL
Oh, for the love of Meadowfoam Seed Oil. A native to Oregon State, this plant regrows quickly and provides sustainable and renewable habitat for wildlife, birds, bees, and butterflies. (Psst. It has a low carbon footprint, too!) It also makes the most fantastic oil. Like Jojoba Oil, Meadowfoam closely matches the sebum produced by our skin. Rich in Vitamin E, and omega-9 fatty acid, you’ll love this gentle, good-for-you oil.
Our Meadowfoam Seed Oil is grown in the Willamette Valley, Oregon (where Val’s father served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930’s, by the way.) Cooperatively farmed by OMG (Oregon Meadowfoam Growers), Meadowfoam Seed oil is one of our favorite oils.
